Wyoming Highway Patrol is establishing an eligibility list for its next hiring cycle. The testing deadline for the next hiring cycle is April 14, 2025, by 5 pm. You must be available for additional screening at WHP in Cheyenne, WY, on April 16-18, 2025.

WYOMING HIGHWAY PATROL PROCESS


  • Complete your written PST exam
  • Wyoming Highway Patrol requires you to also complete an online application process (separate from the PST exam) before your testing scores and application will be considered. You can access that application by clicking the following link: Trooper II
  • You may complete the Wyoming online application before or after you complete your PST written exam.
  • WHP will conduct additional agency screening in Cheyenne, WY, on April 16-18, 2025 for the next hiring cycle.

Hiring Status

Salary Information

Starting pay for Trooper I is $29.30 hr. Starting salary for Trooper II with Advanced Peace Officer Certification is $32.81 hr.

Basic Law Enforcement Academy Certification Applicant must possess the Basic Certification through the Wyoming Peace Officers Standards & Training Commission and possess a "Advanced Peace Officer Certificate" or an equivalent from another state, as recognized by Wyoming P.O.S.T based on years of service and training hours. This will be determined by the Wyoming P.O.S.T. Commission.
