Tentative hiring dates for 2025 are January 6th, April, July, and October.

Current Hiring Bonus

  • $10,000 for Entry Level Corrections Officers
  • $15,000 for Lateral Corrections Officers

*There is no residency requirement to work for the Spokane County Detention Services. Employees are not required to live within the county limits.

*There is no COVID-19 vaccination requirement to work at Spokane County Detention Services.

Department Information

Spokane County Detention Services is the only jail used by local, state, and federal agencies in Spokane County. The jail houses about 800 inmates between two facilities. The larger downtown facility houses inmates of all classifications and the Geiger facility is limited to minimum security inmates.

The eligibility list is a continuous listing and maintained as scores are received from PST. PST scores will be processed regularly and will be merged with the current eligibility list. Once all of the requirements are received by our hiring office you will be given a tentative hire date.

$58,520.68 - $82,966.62 Annually
