The City of Moses Lake is located in central Grant County with a population of approximately 25,600. Moses Lake encompasses 17 square miles and is home to many industries such as Boeing, Genie Industries, REC Silicon, SGL Automotive Carbon Fibers, and many others. Moses Lake is centrally located along I-90 and is only one hour from Spokane and Tri-Cities. Grant County has some of the best recreational activities in the state such as hunting, fishing and boating. We enjoy over 300 days of sunshine each year and seldom see a harsh winter.

Department Information

The Moses Lake Police Department has 44 sworn officers and 8 civilian employees. The department is a values based organization that is responsive to the needs of our community. We provide police services based on our core values of Professionalism, Integrity, Compassion and Service. While the department is organized into two divisions; Operations and Support Services, we operate as a team to effectively deal with our customers’ needs. This teamwork mentality includes working closely with the other agencies in Grant and Adams Counties. The patrol officers work 12 hour shifts with a four days on four days off schedule. Detectives currently work four 10 hour days. There are several specialty opportunities within the department including School Resource Officers, Major Crimes Detectives, Street Crimes Detectives, K9 Officers, Tactical Response Team, Honor Guard, ATF Task Force, and a US Marshall’s Task Force.  We value our employees and strive to provide the most updated equipment and training. Salary Information

2023 Salary Schedule:

$6,620 - $8,366 monthly. There is a 2% educational incentive for AA and AAS degree and 4% educational incentive for a BA or BS degree from an accredited college recognized by the State of Washington.  Officers also receive longevity pay and specialty pay for bilingual Spanish and assignments in K9 and Investigations.
