Department Information

The Lewis County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) is a professional and progressive full-service law enforcement agency for the unincorporated region of Lewis County. The agency is organized into three bureaus: Operations, Corrections, and Services that are overseen by the Sheriff's Administrative Staff. Relative to other Sheriff's Offices in the state, LCSO is an average-sized agency of 100 employees comprised of Deputies, Corrections Deputies, Support Staff, and Administrative Staff. Hiring Status

Lewis County Sheriff's Office - Deputy Sheriff has 3 vacancies.

The eligibility list is a continuous listing and maintained as scores are received from PST.  Panel interviews are conducted on an as-needed basis.  Vacancies are filled by Civil Service Rule of Five, with the top five candidates forwarded to the appointing authority for background investigation and selection as vacancies occur.

Salary Information

Wages are determined by the Deputies Guild Collective Bargaining Agreement 

2024 Deputy Sheriff Trainee (Entry Level):  $6,120 Per Month

2024 Deputy Sheriff:  $6,120 - $7,709 Per Month  

Educational Incentive:  Employees holding an Associate Degree shall be entitled to an additional 3% of their salary each month, Bachelor's Degree an additional 5%, and Master's Degree an additional 7%.
