Lake Forest Park Police Department accepts applications on a continuous basis for both Entry Level and Lateral Police Officer. Selected applicants will be contacted by the Department to participate in the next steps of the hiring process. 


  • In order to be considered for an Entry Level position, applicants must submit their test scores via PST.

The City of Lake Forest Park is located at the north end of Lake Washington, just north of Seattle. The City, incorporated in 1961, consists of a population of about 13,100 people in a mostly residential area set in a park like atmosphere. The City is located on a major commuting route to and from Seattle and the east side of King County, enjoying quick access to shopping.

Department Information

The Police Department consists of 19 sworn officers and 3 support staff. Supervision: Chief of Police, two Lieutenants, and four Patrol Sergeants. Assignments are available to officers such as Motorcycle Officer, Field Training Officer, and Detective for extra compensation. Other assignments include K9 Officer, SWAT, Defensive Tactics Instructor, First Aid Officer, and Firearms Instructor. Other assignments are developed based on the interests of officers and the needs of the department. The department is committed to delivering quality service through enhanced training and the development of staff skills for both department and personal goals. Staff are encouraged to get involved in development of programs and initiatives. The department is active on a regional level, sharing resources and assignments with neighboring jurisdictions.
