Community Information

The fire district covers the communities of Yorkville, Bristol, and a small portion of Montgomery.

Yorkville is a city located about 60 miles west of Chicago in Kendall County, serving as the county seat. It’s part of one of the fastest-growing areas in Illinois. The city officially grew from two separate communities — Yorkville (south of the Fox River) and Bristol (north of the river) — which merged in 1957 to form the “United City of Yorkville.”

Yorkville often attracts families and commuters seeking a blend of small-town charm and accessibility to services and larger cities. The community features riverfront parks, a historic downtown, and expanding suburban neighborhoods, though traffic and growth pressures are common subjects among residents.

Bristol is an unincorporated community in Bristol Township, Kendall County, in the Chicago – Naperville – Elgin metropolitan area. It isn’t an incorporated city or village (so it doesn’t have its own municipal government) but is a distinct populated place within the township.
